Opera Mini has been approved for iPhone and iPod touch on the App Store and will be available as a free download shortly.

Opera Mini, with more than 50 million users worldwide, enables fast mobile Web browsing by compressing data by up to 90 percent before sending content to the device, resulting in significantly improved page loading. Users of the app will notice an uptake in speed, especially on slower networks such as the 2G Edge network. Surfing the Web with the Opera Mini App on iPhone and iPod touch will also help users save money because of its data compression capabilities. This will hold especially true while the user is incurring roaming charges.
Opera submitted its browser to Apple last month and posted a count-up timer to keep track about how much time Apple took to approve or reject Opera’s Mini App. It has also highly speculated that the Opera Mini browser would not be accepted by Apple, as it directly competes with the mobile Safari browser application included with the iPhone and iPod touch.
Opera Mini app for iPhone will support multitasking but will lack support for Adobe Flash for loading rich content from certain Websites. It will also support tabbed browsing, 90 percent data compression, speed dial (Start screen featuring thumbnails of most-visited sites), password manager, Opera link (sync with desktop), download manager and more. There will be no change in the user interface of iPhone version of Opera Mini.
