Video preview of a QWERTY based BlackBerry 9780 running OS6 has been leaked in the wild. Driphter was lucky enough to get a 5-minute video preview of the 9780 (GSM version) running BlackBerry OS 6. The Blackberry Bold 9780 has the exact same form factor and appears to have same hardware like 9700 apart from the refreshed OS (which includes a new WebKit browser). Having installed with pre-release software, the video shows fast page loads but some slightly sluggish scroll speeds. The camera does not have the “5MP” stamp next to it that the Blackberry 9670 has, but it has same screen resolution as the 9700. The device appears ready to run on GSM networks (AT&T and T-Mobile in the US).

BlackBerry Bold 9780 on OS 6.0 – Video

Tough to tell from the pictures because of glare, but has a sharp black bezel around the device giving it a “black out” look. In addition to it, the new Blackberry Bold 9780 has the same battery as Bold 9700 and Bold 9000. There’s no ETA for the 9780, but we will keep you updated as soon as it arrives. Most likely, the new Bold 9780 might launch next week in a scheduled blackberry event in US.

RIM is on the verge of losing its Blackberry OS in favor of Android! You will soon see BlackBerry mobile device sporting Android operating system. The company “RIM” that markets Blackberry has recently joined the Open Handset Alliance, one of whose aims is to promote the Android operating system. Can you believe it?

Please don’t believe it, this is just an error! A logo for Android was added along with a model of BlackBerry Curve 8530 smartphone in a BestBuy (a US electronics chain store) store by mistake. This is a major blunder in advertising campaign from BestBuy by showing two competitors hand-in-hand.

Why anybody did not noticed beautiful green android. Either the advertising campaign managers are blind or they are carried away too far with android love. Hope their sales force is not selling it by saying that blackberry is running on Android.

BlackBerry fans can rest assured their OS is always developed by RIM.

The BlackBerry 9670 CDMA device comes packed with QWERTY keypad, 5MP camera, Wi-Fi, a 360×480 internal display, big external display, trackpad, OS 6.0, microUSB port, microSD internal storage slot, Bluetooth.

Rejoice Blackberry users! Screenshots and full details of RIM’s much anticipated operating system Blackberry OS 6.0 has been leaked in the wild. BGR was able to get first hold of BlackBerry OS 6.0 Screenshots and Specifications from one of his AT&T connect. OS 6.0 looks to be a very clean with enticing UI for the BlackBerry platform.

BlackBerry OS 6.0 Feature Details

• WebKit based new browser, sporting features like tab switcher, new favorites and multitouch.
• A new, completely revamped media player.  To browse the album art work just touch with your finger and then touch the specific album cover to play it.
• “Kinetic Scrolling” makes your experience smooth when scrolling through lists, web pages, emails, and more.
• Multitouch system-wide, from the web browser to the photos application with support of pinch to zoom.
• Better UI for message inbox featuring larger thumbnails to the left of each message to identify the type of message (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
• The homescreen is now made up of individual, customizable pages allowing you to add applications on the main page. To browse different applications, you need to slide left or right to another page. It resembles with the Android’s homescreen minus support for widgets.

About a month back, Blackberry OS 6.0 possible pictures were leaked out and appear to be of a blackberry device running OS 6.0 with the UI of Google Android phones supporting widgets. Surprisingly, BGR claims that the said OS will not support widgets. Once the blackberry rolls out its upcoming OS 6.0, we would have more information. It is being reported that BlackBerry OS 6.0 will hit the market in the June or July.

Verizon Wireless announced contract with The National Football League (NFL) soon after NFL’s partnership ended with Sprint. The new four-year agreement for NFL Mobile will start next month with coverage of the 2010 NFL Draft to be held from April 22-24 and continues with the NFL’s regular season.

Blackberry Desktop Manager 6.0 possible pictures have been leaked in the wild. The leaked image shows more updated UI offering podcasting feature and allow you to find the available space in your memory card.

In order to compete with iPhone and Android based smartphones, Blackberry has recently been very aggressive and plans to roll out Blackberry Desktop Manager 6.0, Blackberry OS 6.0 (view leaked images), new browser and more to come.

MOTO Development Group, conducted a very interesting research on 6 smartphone devices with touchscreen. The aim was to understand which smartphone were equipped with more accurate touchscreen. Alternatively, CNET Labs also carried out the test on touchscreen and the results were entirely different.

At Moto Labs, the tests were performed in the laboratory using a robot to eliminate any human error. Several lines were then drawn on the screen and on some phones the inconsistency was clearly visible.

 

The difference in touchscreen resolution for all the touchscreen phones was clearly visible.  Results with straight lines indicate a high degree of sensor accuracy; less-precise sensors show the lines with wavy patterns, stair-steps, or both. Watch the video below- 

The iPhone was first, followed by Palm Pre and the BlackBerry Storm, so we can say that the iPhone still has the best touch screen of all time. No no, Wait! Have you tested android powered smartphones?

Recently, number of tests was carried out at CNET Labs to measure the quality of touchscreen using DisplayMate Multimedia Edition for Mobile Displays. The touchscreen tests were carried out on iPhone, Motorola Droid, Palm Pre Plus, Samsung Behold II and Nexus One. The results on the touchscreen test were amazing. Motorola Droid made it to the top of the list.
