The error 1015 may cause your device to an endless series of reboots which is very annoying. To exit out of recovery mode iRecovery can be used but there are many people who complain about the issues tagged with the tool. Thanks to Error Fixer 1015!! No more writing down instructions from the command prompt.

Using Error Fixer 1015 application is really simple and you need to pay attention only when it is used on Windows 64bit operating systems. In this case we suggest reading the tutorials available from the application itself.

Many users who were trying to downgrade iOS 4 to 3.1.3 have been facing a iPhone Restore Error Code 3194 which occurs when users try to restore to iOS 3.1.3 firmware from iOS4. But what is this error all about? Well, Apple always signs the latest firmware not the prior one and while downgrading to previous firmware the 3194 error will come if you have not saved or taken backup of ECID SHSH blobs of previous firmware.

Stay tuned! We are actively working to find out fix 3194 error to downgrade iPhone or iPod Touch running iOS 4 to iPhone OS 3.1.3 seamlessly.

After installing iOS 4.0, you will lose your jailbreak and unlock, on your iPhone and iPod Touch, and being latest firmware you might face incompatibility issues with your favorite apps forcing you to return to old firmware 3.1.3. If you are looking for a solution to downgrade iOS 4.0 firmware to iOS 3.1.3 then follow the steps below (for Windows and Mac users).

Users with iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 3G however, must also have the ECID with SHSH saved in the Saurik’s Cydia server and the modify the hosts file in order to succeed in the procedure. Let’s see how:

I am again repeating: This process is only for those who have already saved the ECIDs with SHSH to Cydia Server.

Modifying the Hosts file:
Windows

Open Notepad with administrator privileges and then right click on the icon of notepad and click on “Open as administrator”

Now that Notepad is open Go to folder C:/WINDOWS/system32/drivers/etc and open the file

Add the following line at the end of the document and save it: 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com

Mac

Navigate to “Go” -> “Go to Folder” and enter the path /etc

Open the file “hosts” with TextEdit, add the following string “74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com” and save the file to your desktop.

Now return to the previous folder by following the same method and copy the text within this file by replacing the original file (If prompted for a password enter it and click OK)

Requirements

iTunes 9.2

Steps to downgrade iOS 4.0 iPhone firmware to 3.1.3 [Mac OS]

Step #1 Copy the application “iRecovery” on the desktop and install the library “libusb”.

Step #2 Open iTunes, click the ALT key + Restore and manually load the original 3.1.3 firmware.

Step #3 During the restore process, you’ll notice a pop up with error 1015, neglect it.

Step #4 Click Ok to close the pop-ups and close iTunes.

Step #5 Now open the terminal and type the following commands:

cd Desktop
./iRecovery-s
setenv auto-boot true
saveenv
fsboot
exit

Step #6 Wait a few seconds and disconnect the iPhone from the cable, then reboot the phone by clicking Home + Power buttons simultaneously.

Step #7 Once you connect the phone via USB and proceed normally, the Apple logo appears on the display.

Voila! The downgrade from iOS 4.0 to iOS 3.1.3 is successfully completed.

Steps to downgrade iOS 4.0 iPhone firmware to 3.1.3 [Windows]

Step #1 Extract the archive iRecovery and bring the application on your Desktop.

Step #2 Install “libusb-win32-filter-bin-0.1.12.1.exe” and keep the file on the desktop.

Step #3 Connect your iPhone via USB and put it in DFU mode (hold down the button “Power” and “Home” for 10 seconds then release).

Step #4 Restore and manually load firmware 3.1.3 (by pressing Shift + Restore and select the firmware you downloaded previously).

Step #5 Towards the end of recovery, the procedure will stop and return the iTunes error 1015. Neglect it.

Step #6 Click OK on the pop-up, Close iTunes and run the console by typing the following commands:

cd Desktop (or folder where you copied iRecovery)
iRecovery.exe-s
setenv auto-boot true
saveenv
fsboot
exit

Step #7 Unplug the iPhone from your computer and restart it by pressing the Power and Home until the Apple logo appears. Once turned on, connect to your computer, activate it and use it normally.

Voila! The downgrade from iOS 4.0 to iPhone iOS 3.1.3 is successfully completed.

**Very Important**

Sn0wbreeze v1.6.1 is a jailbreaking tool like PwnageTool for iPhone and iPod touch which can be used to create custom .ipsw files and is fully compatible to work with Windows machines. If you have iPhone 3G (with old iBoot), 3GS or iPhone touch 2G running iOS 4.0, you can use sn0wbreeze 1.6.1 to jailbreak your iDevice. Follow the simple steps listed below:

Pre-requisites

Sn0wbreeze 1.6.1

iOS 4.0 firmware on your iPhone / iPod Touch (which can be downloaded from here);

The latest version of iTunes 9.2 ( Download from here)

**Very Important**

To jailbreak iOS 4 using Sn0wbreeze without any problems, you have to start from a Jailbroken Firmware that can be version 3.1.2, 3.1.3 or 4.0 GM. If you are with a firmware 3.x original installed in your device, you should first jailbreak your iDevice with Redsn0w and then go to Jailbreak iOS 4.0 with Sn0wbreeze. iPhone users who currently owns an iPhone with firmware 4.0 original GM however, must first downgrade to 3.1.2/3.1.3, then run the jailbreak and then use the same Sn0wBreeze to upgrade to iOS 4.0 JB.

Step 1: Launch Sn0wbreeze (please note that when used WinVista or Windows7, you need to start the application in Administrator mode, just right click mouse button on the icon and selecting “Run as administrator”) and connect the our iPhone / iPod to your PC via USB.

Step 2: Here we have a choice between the simple mode and expert mode: Select ” Expert Mode” and continue.

Step 3: At this point we have to choose the firmware: click on “Browse” and select the original 4.0 firmware we downloaded earlier, then clicking on” Open. ” The application will automatically detect the device which is required to be jailbroken.

Step 4: In this new screen, click on the “General” and continue.

Step 5: Now you will be confronted with the following screen: Here:

If you have an iPhone 3G/3GS (factory unlocked) or are on an officially supported carrier like AT&T: DO NOT select “Activate the iPhone”

The root partition is at your leisure;

When you finish choosing options suited to you, move forward. Sn0wbreeze does not update the baseband of iOS 4.0 firmware and you will have the baseband of the previous one.

Step 6: Now we must choose how to Unlock your iPhone: In this screen you choose the method you prefer. Logically, one is for iPhone 2G and the other is for 3G/3GS, as shown in the screenshot.

Step 7: Now, choose package installer from Cydia and Rock for your Phone. Select Cydia. Move forward to continue.

Step 8: It’s time to choose packages to be included in your firmware. Just skip and continue.

Step 9: After entering the preferred package you will be prompted to choose custom boot logos.

Step 10: After you are finished with all the customizations! Now proceed with the creation of the firmware, click on “Build IPSW. Wait till the process is completed.

Step 11: Put the iPhone in recovery mode (or DFU as appropriate).

For the DFU mode:

Turn off the device while connected to your computer

Click the Home + Power button for 10 seconds then release only the power button while continuing to press the Home button.

For recovery mode:

Click Home + Power until the cable icon appears on screen itunes. During this operation, the iPhone will turn off a few times. Continue to press the keys without ever releasing them until their screen.

Step 12: Open iTunes and will show a warning message where there is informed that you have connected an iPhone in recovery mode, click OK and go forward.

Step 13: Hold down the Shift key on your keyboard, click with the mouse on the Restore button in iTunes.

Step 14: Select the firmware called “sn0wbreeze_iPhone_XXX” and confirm. After a few minutes you will have the jailbroken Firmware iOS 4.0 installed on iPhone / iPod

HTC Aria android phone has been rooted successfully. Infamous HTC hacker Eugene373 has found way to give you root access on HTC Aria. Rooting HTC Aria Android phone provides full access to its system files allowing you to modify the phone’s firmware and install third party apps, themes and custom ROMs. To achieve root access on HTC Aria, the hacker used the same method used for rooting MyTouch 3G Slide.

Steps to Root HTC Aria Android phone

Method 1:

Just flash the custom ROM: Liberated_Aria Beta (download from here). The ROM includes root, superuser.apk and strips AT&T applications & brings the ROM much closer to a generic HTC sense ROM.

Method 2:

Step 1: Create a GoldCard that byypasses the RUU/SPL CID check to root or downgrade.

Step 2: Download the root file here.

Step 3: Power off the device making sure it is plugged in via USB so that you can access ADB.

Step 4: Place the contents of the File you just downloaded into the SDK Directory.

Step 5: Open Command Prompt and CD to the SDK/Tools Directory.

Step 6: Power on the Slide by holding down. (Volume Down + Power Button )

Step 7: Now run your loop file from the prompt (either type “loop” in windows or “./loop.sh” in a *nix like)

Step 8: Once your loop is running in your prompt, select Recovery from the bootloader menu.

Step 9: When recovery loads, you should Have an Offline Device. You can use ctrl+c to stop your script & see. If this doesn’t happen, Power Off and try again.

Step 10: Un-plug your USB cable from the back of your phone & Plug it back in for it to Detect ADB Correctly!!! This is an important step. At this point you can adb devices to see if you can see your device and that it is in recovery mode.

Step 11: Select Update.zip from the menu. (This will fail, but we already know that! Select it anyway).

Step 12:

adb push ota.zip /sdcard/update.zip

(*nixlike users add a ./ in front of all terminal commands please.)

Step 13: adb push slideroot.zip /sdcard

Step 14: This is Very important!! Have this Command ready in your prompt before applying update.zip again!!

adb push update.zip /sdcard

Step 15: Hit run update.zip, as soon as you see a Little Bar appear under the text push Enter to execute the command in your prompt (adb push update.zip /sdcard )

Step 16: If successful, you should see Clockwork Recovery. If unsuccessful, repeat steps 12 & 13.

Step 17: Now, go to the Partitions menu and Mount System

Step 18: Go back one level & select install any zip from sdcard. Select slideroot.zip & apply update from zip (This will finish the Root process).

Step 19: Reboot your phone & wait for it to load completely. To confirm that your slide is connected as a device use the command adb devices. If this works, you will see it as a device. Your prompt will say something like:

$ ./adb devices
List of devices attached
HT05YUP12710 device

Step 20:

adb install Superuser.apk

(If this looks like it works, but says it cannot locate directories, make sure you can find your device using adb devices… If things still don’t work, my best advice is to start over)

Step 21: After Superuser is installed try to use adb to shell to your device.

adb shell

you will get a $
Then type su
Superuser should pop-up asking if you give permission, do so.

Your $ should turn into a #. If so, you have root.

Specification wise HTC EVO 4G is carrying 802.11g WiFi despite having the same chip that supports 802.11n WiFi on a Nexus One running Froyo. The support for 802.11n is actually blocked on EVO 4G (don’t know why) but the hackers over xda-devs have managed to hack the Hex Editor driver and activate 802.11n WiFi on HTC EVO 4G ensuring faster transmission.

How to Enable Wireless N (802.11n WiFi) on HTC EVO 4G

Step 1: Download a hex editor.

Step 2: Go into a command prompt or shell and perform:

adb pull /system/lib/modules/bcm4329.ko ./bcm4329.ko.old
adb pull /system/lib/modules/bcm4329.ko ./bcm4329.ko

This will pull the file and make a backup in case you need to replace the backup.

Step 3: In your hex editor open the file you just pulled. Now, in two spots HTC added ‘nmode’ in here to disable Wireless N. All we have to do is modify this string to be any other 5 character string and wireless N will be enabled. Replace ‘nmode’ with ‘—–’ (Note: Do not include the single quotes).

Step 4: Save the file.

Step 5: Perform the following in a command prompt or shell:

mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
adb push bcm4329.ko /system/lib/modules/bcm4329.ko

Now wireless N should be enabled on your device. If not, restart it and try. If you ever want to restore your original just perform the following:

mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
adb push bcm4329.ko.old /system/lib/modules/bcm4329.ko

Voila! Wireless n on HTC EVO has been activated successfully.
