Sync your Android Phone and PC with USB Cable

Synchronize your Android phones like DROID with PC contacts, calendar, tasks, and Lotus notes with using USB cable. Just install the free CL USB Sync (beta) app on your Android device. Supports Android OS 1.5, 1.6, 2.0, and 2.01

Step #1 On your Android phone, go to Settings -> Applications, then check the box for “Unknown Sources: Allow install of non-Market applications”. Visit companionlink.com/androidapp from your Android phone to download the app on your phone or get it from here.

Step #2 Launch CLUsbSync.apk from your browser’s download folder. This will start the CL USB Sync self-installer. This gathers data for the USB connection.

Step #3 When this completes, connect your Android phone to the PC via the USB cable and mount it to your computer. Follow steps to mount the phone to your PC.

  • Connect your Android Phone to your PC with USB cable.
  • On the Phone, Tap the status bar (The USB icon on the upper-left corner), then drag it down.
  • Tap the “USB connected” notification.
  • Tap the Mount button

Step #4 On the PC, launch and run CompanionLink to complete the synchronization. Any changed data from the PC may require you run CL USB Sync on the Android after disconnecting the cable.

Note: The Android phone should be unmounted prior to synchronizing with CL USB Sync on your phone. Follow steps to unmount the phone to your PC

  • Connect your Android Phone to your PC with USB cable.
  • On the Phone, Tap the status bar (The USB icon on the upper-left corner), then drag it down.
  • Tap the “Turn off USB storage” notification.
  • Tap the Turn Off button

On the PC: Select the PC software you want to sync from the options at the bottom of this page. You will be asked to install the appropriate CompanionLink desktop software based on your selection.

  • Lotus Notes versions 4.6.7 and higher

    You can get the android app for free from the market place, but you still need the PC software Companion link. It’s not free.
