LCD Checker: Check Dead Pixels in iPhone, iPod Touch & iPad

by Jeffry on March 16, 2010

LCD Checker is a simple application available in the AppStore that might come handy to check the dead pixel of your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad screen. The operation is similar to all other applications of the same gender, and tint the screen completely, without gaps in the StatusBar or otherwise.

When you start LCD Checker application the screen will be displayed as white. The color of the screen can be changed by shake. When you touch the screen, information is displayed. You can change the color of a screen by touching screen with 2 fingers.

The tests are performed by coloring the display of red, blue, or green and you can watch carefully if there are any dead pixels that do not respond to the colors. If your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch is still under warranty and you notice more than 3 pixel “dead” you can request assistance from Apple that will probably replace the iDevice.

I’ve always liked the LCD checker, and the fact that it doesn’t leave gaps in the status bar is a big bonus.
