Fixing iTunes 10 Vertical Spotlight Buttons

iTunes 10 has witnessed a major change in its interface that not only differentiates it from prior versions of iTunes but also from most other OS X applications, and that is the placement of the close, minimize, and Maximize buttons which are now in a vertical orientation.

In iTunes 10 Apple has removed the title bar and repositioned the buttons vertically. But the changes can be reverted back easily. Just follow the simple steps below that will fix the iTunes 10 vertical spotlight buttons.

How to Fix iTunes 10 Minimize, Maximize, Close Buttons

Step 1: Close iTunes 10

Step 2: Navigate to the Terminal (Applications > Utilities  > Terminal) and enter the following command

defaults write com.apple.iTunes full-window -boolean YES

Step 3: Re-launch iTunes 10

Voila! The stoplight buttons (Minimize, Maximize, Close) will now appear as in prior version of iTunes.

    Thank goodness for things like this. Apple should really talk to its users before making moves like this. I hope this is not a glimpse into things to come.
