How to Run Android on HTC Windows Mobile device

by Jeffry McDowell on December 5, 2009

Android on Windows Mobile phone like HTC Touch Pro, HTC Touch HD, and the HTC Diamond can be run easily by downloading the special modified version of Android. You are also required to install Windows Mobile application HaRET to boot into Android.  The method is very simple and does not replace your Windows Mobile installation to run Google Android.

Android on Windows Mobile

Step #1 Download the special modified version of Android via this website and locate the latest package for your phone.

Step #2 Get HaRET, a Windows Mobile application that lets you boot into Android.

Step #3 Unzip Android package & HaRET into the root of your external storage of your Windows mobile. For HTC Diamond, unzip Android package & HaRET into its internal storage root.

Step #4 Check if your startup.txt file is the correct. The default that came with the package is for RAPH100. To get the exact model code for your version refer to this website (for the Touch Pro).

Step #5 Start HaRET from Windows Mobile. Your Windows phone should reboot directly into Android!

To get data connection up and running, follow this guide and enjoy your HTC Android phone.
