How Next iPhone 4G / HD Prototype was Camouflaged?

by Jeffry on April 23, 2010

Have you ever wondered why such a prototype of next iPhone 4G was found outside Apple premises? Why even the Apple engineers had to test prototypes (which would become the next fourth generation iPhone we know today) around the city, none have ever noticed anything strange? Simply because they were disguised.

Apple actually creates a number of prototypes of iPhone with different design models and hand over to some Apple employees for testing. The idevice must pass certain tests that would not be possible within the company premises such as antenna changes, called in various circumstances and so forth, in short, tests that require the real simulation in daily life.

The design of the fourth-generation iPhone appears to be completely different from what we have been seeing concept images of the iPhone until now. Apple cleverly disguised the next generation iPhone 4G / HD Prototype and it was nearly impossible for anyone to find what was hidden inside.

According to statements of Gizmodo, purported iPhone 4G prototype was enclosed inside the plastic cover to hide from prying eyes in such a way to resemble like an iPhone 3G. A very tactical maneuver carried out by Apple intelligence to confuse the public about the device and to allow different testers and all those who have a prototype to use the phone without attracting public attention.

As we can see from the pictures, the plastic case, which resembles like a 3GS, the side buttons of this prototype are made of plastic – the power button, the mute switch and the volume rocker while the corresponding parts on the iPhone 3GS are made of aluminum/metal. The case was ingeniously designed to protect future designs from prying eyes.

Different types of iPhone cases are available in market and for instance, if iPhone case doesn’t match up to the 3GS body, it can still be overlooked as “just another iPhone case”. This is the reason why people haven’t seen the next iPhone 4G / HD before Steve Jobs makes an announcement this summer: They’re in disguise.

i actually have the new iPhone 10R it's the 2035 prototype code named "Zellar Guglian". It never needs to be charged. It's processor is infinitely powerful because it sends it's processes into a black whole which has infinite processing capabilities. It can generate a 3D screen projection, and a 3D keyboard. It can also integrate via "brain-tooth" directly into your mind and you can load virtual programs like the matrix had. It can also open up wormholes to an endless array of alternate worlds. It can cook and do laundry, was your car, even be your car. It can act as a couch or a toilet, a shower, a sink, you name it, it can be it. It can't be a man or woman though, Apple has that porn policy, so no go there. It also cannot fax, nor be food and water. It can be a spaceship though. Anyway off to another world with my new phone….

My blackberry and I have had an intense, tumultuous, love-hate relationship for 3.5 years. Even when over slicker, hotter phones came around (iPhone 2007), I stuck with my little pocket pal. However, with 3 broken Bolds in 6 months, a horrible AT&T network, and terrible customer service, it’s becoming harder and harder to resist what seems inevitable. The photo leak of the upcoming iPhone 4G this week has only increased my longing to make the switch. More on the details of this new model and about the reasons I’ve finally come to the conclusion that I’ll be putting down my trackball and BBM once and for all this July here..

I think you are making too much about Apples intentions to camouflage the 4G model. I don't work at Apple or have any first hand information, but my experience (I work in the electronics biz in Silicon Valley) is that protos are generally put in what is available to make it easy. In this case, take the guts out of the old 3G and replace them with 4G. It is just easier.
