by Chris on March 31, 2010

Recently, Apple updated iTunes, to iTunes 9.1, which introduces some new features and new device support coming in the next few days, the iPad. Blackra1n jailbreak tool stopped working. iPhone and iPod Touch users who, inadvertently, have updated to iTunes 9.1 can now return to the old version iTunes 9.0.3 by following this guide.

Requirements:

How to Downgrade iTunes 9.1 to 9.0.3

Step #1 – First you must save all of our applications and music (if located in the iTunes Music folder). This is because when you update to the new version 9.1, iTunes has also updated its library and, after execution of the downgrade, it will be unusable. All those people who have a library orderly and well structured will remake it from scratch! Let us go then this route:

Documents / Music / iTunes

and save the / folder / and call / e “Mobile Applications“And”iTunes Music“In a new folder or a path to our choice.

Step #2 - Then open the Control Panel and uninstall in the following order

  • iTunes 9.1
  • Apple Mobile Device Support
  • Apple Application Support
  • Apple Software Update
  • QuickTime

Step #3 - Navigate to “Documents / Music” And permanently delete the folder “iTunes”, Containing library and all the data stored.

Step #4 - Now launch CCleaner. Click the button “Analyze” till the scan is completed.

ccleaner itunes

Step #5 - Restart your PC

Step #6 - Install iTunes version 9.0.3

Voila, your blackra1n RC3 to jailbreak iPhone and iPod touch works again. Alternatively, you can use BlackBreeze utility to fix iTunes 9.1 and Blackra1n RC3 problem.
