    Hi All,

I am facing a problem which i am unable to solve even after spending hrs. neither i can find the solution anywhere on the internet.

    The problem is described below:

    1) I have a iphone 3GS with New Boot ROM
    2) I had jailbroken it on version 4.0.1 through jailbreakme.com and had cydia installed
    3) I was browsing system folders through iFile application from cydia and out of curiousity I deleted many folders including system, app etc and suddenly the iphone went blank
    4) I dont have backup of my SHSH
    5) Now when i try to restore IPSW file (3.1.3, 4.0.1, 4.1) through itunes 9.2/10.1 I get 3014/3194 error
    6) I tried Redsn0w 0.9.6 b6, iREB, Sn0wbreeze 2.1 etc but none seems to work

Please if anyone can kindly suggest me how to solve this issue I would be grateful to him …….as of now my iPhone is like a brick

You and I have the same problem, and i have been trying for weeks to fix it. Itunes upgrade my 3GS to 4.2.1 and now i have been trying to downgrade but no luck but i think you can upgrade your firmware to at ipad 06.14.09 baseband to which will void your warranty. Google how to upgrade your baseband which i don’t want to do i will have to wait for the new jailbreak this month.

I am having the same error. I tried to downgrade to 3.1.3 from 4.0.2 and kept getting random errors. Somehow when I performed a sync it actually put 3.1.3 on the phone but now if I try to restore/backup from files or the internet I get this 3194 error. Unfortunately my iphone is one of the ones stricken with the wifi getting f#*ked from updating to OS 4. I have asked a few questions on Apples site and they keep removing my posts stating that my comments are negative. Go figure

I tried this with Vista, and then tried with WinXP. It did not work in Vista. I kept on getting that stupid error 3194. It worked like a charm in XP. Another reason why we should not use Vista, and one more reason I will stay on XP. Anyway, give that a try, if you haven’t already done so.

I’ve had the same 3194 problem until I added:

      74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com

My problem was that I was adding the above over the original #127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com. I completely forgot that the hash “#” commented out the line. Removing the hash “#” worked for me.

no matter what modification you do in this HOSTS file, nothing will change. always the same 3194 error shows up!

      • Baqirhasani

try this to fix 3194 error:
open hosts file and add following two lines at the end

        127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com
        74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com

simple copy these two lines and paste at the end of hosts file and you are done Yo…..

I tried on iPhone 3gs Mc model and it worked like magic …. do reply with your responses plz …

        • bdb69

I tried this too and I have confirmed and pint of gs.apple.com on my workstation is resolving toe 127.0.0.1 as your two lines above would do. I am still having the same issue. I was able to get 3.0 on my ipod touch 2g, but the 3.1.2 and 3.1.3 give me the same error. Any other thoughts would be welcomed.

      • Gongfu

Will this only work if you have SHSH files with Cydia? Still getting 3194 Error. This phone has never been jailbroken 4.0.2 newest base build
