Install Flash 10.1 on Jailbroken iPad to Access Flash Enabled Sites

We all know that accessing flash on iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad through Safari or via the new Opera Mini browser is officially not possible. But, infamous hacker Comex is already working on a port for accessing flash content on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch and he even released video showing Frash port of the Adobe Flash runtime for Android to the iPad. Frash lets you run Flash10.1 programs natively in the MobileSafari browser. Currently, Frash plugin being in preliminary stage does not do video playback but allows you to play games and other animations on Apple iPad. Do you still want to access flash enabled sites to view animation and play flash games on your iPad? If yes, then follow the step by step instructions listed below:

How to install Flash 10.1 on Jailbroken iPad

Step 1 : Make sure that your iPad is Jailbroken. If not, you may follow instructions here to jailbreak your iPad using Spirit Tool.

Step 2 : Download Frash.deb file from the source link given below.

Step 3 : Open Cydia and then search for “OpenSSH”. Install OpenSSH on your iPad.

Step 4 : Connect your iPad with your computer. Make sure iTunes is not running.

Step 5 : You will now download software to access your iPad via SSH.

Mac users can use Cyberduck. Enter the following details to login to your iPad:

  • Server: The IP address of your iPad. Settings –> WiFi –> <Your Network Name>
  • Username: root
  • Password: alpine
  • Protocol: SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol)

Windows users can use WinSCP. Enter the following details to login to your iPad:

  • Server: The IP address of your iPad. Settings –> WiFi –> <Your Network Name>
  • Username: root
  • Password: alpine
  • Protocol: SCP

Step 6 : Once you have got access to the iPad filesystem, navigate to /var/root/Media directory as shown here:

Step 7 : Once there, open Media and create a folder Cydia.

Step 8 : Open the new Cydia folder and create another new folder AutoInstall

Step 9 : Upload Frash to your AutoInstall folder and then Restart your iPad.

In order to browse Flash content on any site, click on the “F” logo to play the Flash content. Watch the video showing Flash running flawlessly on iPad.
