No Jailbreak for iPad 3.2.2, iOS 4.0.2 iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 3G. Its Official Now!

by Jeffry on August 26, 2010

It’s now official! iPhone Dev team will not be releasing software to jailbreak iOS 4.0.2 or iPad 3.2.2, which means that if you have upgraded your iPhone iOS to 4.0.2 or iPad to 3.2.2 or have recently bought iPhone 4 with iOS 4.0.2 or iPad 3.2.2 then you are out of luck. iPhone Dev team do not want to use the exploit on 4.1 Beta firmwares in which nobody but Apple benefits. For this reason, there won’t be a 4.0.2 iOS and 3.2.2 jailbreak specifically during the period where iOS 4.0.2 and 3.2.2 is the latest public release.

Currently, Apple is shipping iPhone and iPad with iOS 4.0.2 and 3.2.2 respectively, which fixes the jailbreakme hole instead of introducing new features or fixing bugs. With FW 4.1 still in its beta stages, it makes no sense to escalate the “cat & mouse” with Apple for FW updates that only fix the jailbreak holes. iPhone Dev Team quoted, “the only winning move is not to play”.

Those who have jailbroken their iPhone on iOS 4.0.1 with JailbreakMe, there is no need to update it to iOS 4.0.2 as it only patches the PDF Exploit in Safari browser. Alternatively, you can install PDF Patch from Cydia repository in order to fix PDF vulnerability. However, if you have unintentionally upgraded your  iPhone or iPod Touch to iOS 4.0.2 but have your SHSH blobs saved, then you can easily downgrade iOS 4.0.2 to iOS 4.0.1 firmware.

I blame this on those idiots jailbreaking Display models at Apple Stores! Everything was cool until then. Apple didn’t care that ” owners” of devices jailbroke their own phones, but when they started messing with Private property, it got ugly quick. Then some Punks wanna use the jailbreak hole to steal Personal information?! I think that last part was Apple Hype! As nobody reported have their information hacked into. Illbeit was possible, but nobody was really trying to exploit it. This sucks something fierce! I had to restore because of a system crash that I caused. I restored at the Apple Store and only had the option of 3.2.2. I was jailbroken before that. Man I miss My Mods!!!!
