Motorola Backflip has been Rooted Finally!

Motorola Backflip has been rooted successfully. The guys over at ModMyMobile got their hands dirty and managed to root Motorola backflip running android 2.1 OS providing full access to its system files.

Rooted android allowing you to modify the phone’s firmware and install third party apps, themes and custom ROMs. You can then spruce up your Motorola Backflip handset with number of third party applications. Be warned, you might end-up bricking your android phone.

How to Root Motorola Backflip Android Phone

The process of rooting Motorola Backflip is similar to that of the Epic 4G, Droid 2 and EVO 4G Froyo which is fairly complicated and requires the Android SDK to be installed on your computer.     This phone does use Android 2.1. Until Last month you had to “root” the phone to install it. As of November 9th, you can simply download the new update from Motorola’s website.
