HTC Legend Falls on Vodafone & 3 Mobile for $499

Android powered HTC Legend smartphone has been launched by HTC Corporation and will be available for retailing from 3rd June exclusively via Vodafone and 3 Mobile networks as announced by Anthony Petts, Sales and Marketing Director ANZ, HTC Corporation.

This device, launching on Vodafone and 3 mobile, allows users to create and define their own unique mobile experience through HTC’s user interface, HTC Sense. The HTC Legend also includes social media integration with Facebook™, HTC Peep for twittering and Friend Stream.”

HTC Legend will be running Android 2.1 OS with HTC Sense UI. Its body has a seamless compact frame and sports 3.2 inch AMOLED HVGA touchscreen display, 5MP autofocus camera with flash, Facebook integration, HSPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3.5mm headset jack and MicroSD card support.

Its Friend Stream feature lets you organize all of your online social network friends, contacts and emails into one continuous stream and is integrated to social media sites like facebook, HTC Peep for twittering and Friend Stream, photo sharing on Facebook, Flickr, and Twitter. Video sharing via youtube and password security features are also provided.

There are multiple home screens which are able to be customized with short-cuts and application widgets which can be downloaded from the Android Store quickly thanks to HSDPA. The HTC Legend also features the ‘chin’ design first seen in the previous HTC Hero for which this latest phone is a direct upgrade.

HTC Legend price is free on contracts from 49 AUD per month, or for 599 AUD ($499) sans contract by Vodafone Australia. There is no pricing announced for 3 Mobile Australia yet. The smartphones can be picked from stores and dealers from 3rd June onwards.
