Along with iPhone 4, several other high-end smartphones were launched this year. PCMag.com did a detailed analysis and compared the Retina Display of iPhone 4 with other android phones like Motorola Droid X, Droid Incredible and EVO 4G and found the screen of iPhone 4 to be “The Best”.
Expensive instruments for measuring brightness and color were used to carry out the tests. In addition to it, Raymond Soneira, president of DisplayMate (a company specializing in video diagnosis) , led to calibrate and optimize the display. The iPhone 4 screen, in fact, was found to be the best including the contrast as values were higher than all other terminals including better color depth. The iPhone 4 was indeed 25 percent brighter than the iPhone 3GS.
The results change, regarding the contrast ratio; HTC Droid Incredible packed with OLED screen clearly emerged as a winner with a value of 39,373. Motorola Droid has returned the best result (with a difference of only -6%). The new iPhone 4, despite negative values, has the better screen than the other phones involved in the test.
Earlier the Macworld came up with the first test that compares the new iPhone 4 having a 5 megapixel camera, a few point and shoot compact cameras and other smartphones, including the most formidable rival of the iPhone, the Motorola Droid X.
