Sasktel, the Canadian operator who have millions of potential user base in Saskatchewan, an area of Western Canada, is currently developing its own iPhone-friendly high speed HSDPA network and announced that the new Apple iPhone will be launched on it in late June. SaskTel is currently operating under CDMA 3G networks.
The President and CEO Robert Watson of Canadian operator has announced that the new 3G network will be up and running by July 1 this year, and that work will be completed by the end of 2010. In a discussion on its 3G network set to launch July 1st, he had this to say:
“The good news is that (Apple) is coming out with a new version of the iPhone in the June time-frame and they’re going to put us on that. So we’re quite excited about that.”
Apple is speculated to introduce the next iPhone (probably iPhone 4G dubbed iPhone HD) at is annual Worldwide Developers Conference at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, on June 22. Although there is no official announcement been made for launching date of iPhone 4G/HD but it seems that Apple will soon make it.
Sometime back rumors surfaced that Apple is working on two new iPhone Models, one of which will be compatible with Verizon’s CDMA network, which is scheduled to be released in summer. The two iPhone models is said to be produced by different manufacturers.
