The iPhone 4G (next generation iPhone) will be released shortly at WWDC 2010 in a Keynote by Steve Jobs. Before the iPhone is released lets have a quick snapshot of probable or most anicipated features out of fourth-gen iPhone.
Steve Jobs also reportedly confirmed earlier that the next iPhone coming is an A+ updates, and that “Apple will deliver aggressive updates to iPhone that Android/Google won’t be able to keep up with”. But what should be expected from the upcoming iPhone HD device? Some of the iPhone 4G rumored specifications that surfaced in past few weeks are as follows.
iPhone 4G is actually iPhone HD?
Engadget reports that the next-generation iPhone 4G would be dubbed as iPhone HD. iPhone HD is said to be announced on June 07, 2010 and will compete with the fellow rival Sprint EVO 4G, HTC HD2 and all other smartphone devices. In addition to it, iPhone 4G is speculated to be named as iPhone HD and might be available in five colors. Black, White, Sky Blue, Sea Green and Red.
All-White iPhone 4G might be announced?
Apple has earlier offered a white back on its iPhone 3G and 3GS models minus the 8 GB 3G model. Recently, some iPhone 4G parts were leaked on the web. If we believe in the veracity of these White iPhone 4G parts, then Apple might release the iPhone 4G models in two more colors – Full black and Full white, as well as the two hybrid and alternate versions for a total of 4 models.
iPhone 4G/HD to have 940 x 640 Screen Resolution?
According to Daring Fireball, the iPhone 4G/HD is expected with high-resolution 940 x 640 capacitive touchscreen display packed with Apple A4-family CPU system-on-a-chip which is based on core technology from United Kingdom-based ARM that powers the iPad also.
Gizmodo’s iPhone 4G confirms improved display. It was unclear if it was the 960×460 display thrown around before—it certainly looked like it, with the “Connect to iTunes” screen displaying much higher resolution than on a 3GS. However, individual pixels were impossible to discern on new iPhone HD.
iPhone HD with front-facing video camera?
The next-generation iPhone 4G might come with 64GB of NAND flash storage, a touch panel on the back of the iPhone 4G, high definition video playback and recording with a 5 megapixel camera, front-facing video camera and more. Upgrading to a 5-megapixels camera will bring the handset into line with that offered by android powered Nexus One.
Gizmodo has already confirmed that new iPhone HD will sport Front-facing video chat camera. The all new iPhone could have improved regular back-camera (the lens is quite noticeably larger than the iPhone 3GS) with Camera flash.
Magic Mouse Features on iPhone HD?
Bloomberg reports that there would be lots of changes (both hardware and software) in upcoming next generation iPhone HD is said to include a more advanced camera, and may feature a touch-sensitive casing similar to that used for Apple’s touch-panel Magic Mouse. Magic Mouse has a touch-sensitive solid plastic shell that replaces mechanical buttons. The technology may be replicated in the new iPhone to offer touch-sensitive features on the rear of the handset.
iPhone 4G To Get 802.11n Wi-Fi Standard?
Sometime back the iPhone team at Apple was looking for a software engineer with expertise in WiFi a/b/g/n and related specifications. Engineer who can implement the 802.11a and 802.11n standards, along with the existing 802.11b/g technology. The job posting added speculations that the next gen iPhone 4G is finally going to support 802.11n WiFi standard.
There are lots of speculations floating around about how iPhone 4G (iPhone HD) would look like and what would be its specification? But one thing is clear, that the features that are present in smartphones like HTC Incredible, Nexus One and Sprint’s Evo 4G and are missing in iPhone 3GS, will surely make up in upcoming “iPhone HD”. There are speculations that Steve Job’s will be unveiling iPhone 4G to the whole world at WWDC 2010 which my not turn out to be a shocker (after so many leaks). But, according to the legit sources at BGR, the next Apple iPhone 4G will be retailing on Friday, June 18th 2010. Some reports earlier claimed that the fourth generation iPhone 4G will be unveiled at WWDC on June 7 and will be commercially available on June 30, 2010.
