iPhone 4G HD images posted by Engadget yesterday were proved to be fake by Applesfera and later claimed that iPhone 4G model that was found by engadget in San Hose Bar was just a Japanese iPhone Clone. But Engadget has turned Applesfera claim upside-down and said that iPhone 4G photos they posted are indeed legitimate and authentic.

Their claim was authenticated by a leaked iPad image (which they got it from one of the source at Apple test Lab, before th iPad Launch) that shows the incomplete image of next iPhone 4G/HD in the top right corner (see arrows above) which resembles the one which they published earlier.
Engadget further claimed to have a source who confirmed that this is the next generation iPhone 4G with higher resolution screen, sporting a front facing camera, 80GB of storage, higher resolution camera with flash, running newer version of iPhone OS and takes MicroSIM cards.
Soon after, Applesfera retracted its claims and said that the images of iPhone (probably iPhone 4G or iPhone HD) published by engadget is not of a Japanese clone.
It was also being rumored earlier that the next iPhone 2010 model will be sporting glass back. The leaked iPhone model is packed with glass backing and Daring Fireball’s John Gruber statement further supports the legitimacy of the said iPhone prototype model after he dug up a 2006 Apple patent application on a ceramic enclosure for handheld devices.
If this is a real iPhone 4G or iPhone HD model which is going to be unveiled by Apple this Summer, then Steve Jobs must not be happy about it. Most likely, someone (the person who lost the iPhone 4G model at San Jose Bar) at Apple might lose his job on Monday.
