It’s that time again! Time to get yourself another dose of iPhone 5 overload. Digitimes is now reporting that LTE driven “iPhone 4S” is unlikely to launch before 2012.
Apple is likely to delay the launch of its LTE-enabled iPhones to 2012, said the sources, noting that the industry had also long been skeptical about the launch of LTE iPhones in 2011 as the implementation of LTE networks has not yet matured.
Another report from their sources claims that Apple has lowered second quarter iPhone 4 production ahead of the next generation iPhone launch in September.
Apple has lowered its expected shipment volume of iPhone 4 for the second quarter of 2011 from 20 million units, to 17.5-18 million units consisting of 16 million units of the 3G version and 1.5-2 million units of the CDMA version.
According to the report Qualcomm based iPhone 4S will carry 8MP resolution camera by OmniVision Technologies and Taiwan-based Largan Precision. The device is likely to carry A5 processor, as reported earlier. Production of iPhone 4S is said to begin in August and will hit the retail stores not before September.
