How to Download Torrents on iPhone & iPod Touch

Torrentula v2.1b, an iPhone and iPod Touch torrent client based on cTorrent has been released is now available for download. The new release of Torrentula v2.1b developed by Albert Schulz and Mark Peterson includes – Filemanager, Media Playback and Backgrounding. With Torrentula you can search and download torrents from Torrent trackers like The Pirate Bay, Mininova, ExtremeNova, Demonoid, etc. directly on your phone or iPod Touch.

Torrentula can be downloaded from the BigBoss Cydia Repository. But make sure that you have a jailbroken iPhone/iPod Touch. You can also follow our previous articles on how to jailbroken iPhone. Once installed, download .torrent files to your iPhone or iPod touch with the HistoryDL.app or the Safari Download Plugin into the mobile (or root)/Downloads folder. The program will scan your mobile (or root)/Downloads folder for new torrent files, and will import any valid torrent files regardless of their filename or extension. When a torrent has finished downloading from peers it will be automatically moved to mobile (or root)/Media/Downloads when selected.

How to access your downloaded Torrent Files via SSH

Requirements:

• OpenSSH installed on your Device
• iPod/iPhone and Computer in the same WiFi Network
• Cyberduck(Mac) or WinSCP (Windows) installed

How To:

1. Open your SSH Tool (WinSCP/Cyberduck)
2. Open a new connection
3. Fill the fields:
   1. Login Name: root
   2. Password: alpine
   3. Host: your iPod’s /iPhone’s IP  (To view your iPod’s /iPhone’s IP open Settings.app and navigate to -> Wi-Fi -> click the blue button of your Network).
4. Connect
5. Navigate to “/User/Library/Downloads/” to view your downloaded files and .torrents
6. Drap and Drop them, to your desktop
