Apple is set to unveil its latest iPhone operating system to the world tomorrow. But what new features we can expect from Apple for iPhone 4.0 OS?

Third-party Multitasking – It is being almost confirmed that iPhone 4.0 firmware will support multitasking and user interface will then resemble Apple’s desktop Expose feature. After tapping the Home button twice, an expose-like interface will bring up the currently running apps, prompting user for quick selection. Once the selection is made, the iPhone OS zooms out of the Expose task manager and transitions you to that running app. Pretty impressive! Yeah! Finally, we will be getting multitasking officially. Multitasking feature is already available with rival mobile operating systems Android and webOS. May be for saving battery life, Apple did not supported the said feature.

Wireless Syncing – Currently, we connect our iPhone to computer for syncing. In order to compete with Android phones that never uses computer for syncing, apple must remove the middleman wherever “USB Connectivity” is required.

Live Wallpapers – Android Phones like “Nexus One” has already witnessed Live Wallpapers as the phone’s background. Now its time for Apple to include the feature.

Add contacts to home screen – The feature will allow you to add contact shortcut at home screen such as a button that will call “Boss” directly. It looks quite hazy, but good if apple can incorporate this as well.

Better App management – Currently, we connect our iPhone or iPod Touch to computer for arranging apps on home screen. It would be good if Apple can introduce alternative solution to manage apps directly from iDevice itself.

Second camera – Once the iPhone 4.0 is announced, iPhone 4G/HD will arrive soon and it will be nice if Apple can add a second, front-facing camera for video chatting. We recently shared leaked iPhone 4G/HD LCD Screens providing the provison for second camera. Dying to see that happen!

If the said features goes missing in iPhone 4.0, there is a possibility that the features will be included either in iPhone OS 4.0.1 or iPhone 4.1 firmware.
