Sn0wbreeze V1.8 is out for download to Jailbreak iOS 4.1 Beta on iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 3G/2G with new iBoot. If you have iPhone 3GS or iPhone touch 2G, 3G running iOS 4.1, you can use sn0wbreeze V1.8 to jailbreak your iDevice. Make sure your iPhone or iPod Touch is already jailbroken on iOS 4. Follow simple instructions listed below in order to jailbreak the iPhone or iPod Touch on iOS 4.1 Beta using Sn0wbreeze 1.8.

Sn0wbreeze v1.8 BETA is a jailbreaking tool like PwnageTool for iPhone and iPod touch which can be used to create custom .ipsw files. But unlike the PwnageTool, Sn0wbreeze is fully compatible to work with Windows machines.
How to Jailbreak iOS 4.1 BETA on iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 3G/2G with sn0wbreeze V1.8 Beta
Pre-requisites
- Sn0wbreeze 1.8
- iOS 4.1 firmware on your iPhone / iPod Touch (which can be downloaded from here)
- The latest version of iTunes 9.2 ( Download from here)
**Very Important**
To jailbreak iOS 4.1 Beta using Sn0wbreeze without any problems, you have to start from a Jailbroken Firmware that can be version 4.0. iPhone users who currently owns an iPhone with firmware 4.0 original GM however, must first downgrade to 3.1.2/3.1.3, then run the jailbreak and then use the same Sn0wBreeze to upgrade to iOS 4.0 JB.
Step 1: Launch Sn0wbreeze (please note that when used WinVista or Windows7, you need to start the application in Administrator mode, just right click mouse button on the icon and selecting “Run as administrator”) and connect the our iPhone / iPod to your PC via USB.
Step 2: Here we have a choice between the simple mode and expert mode: Select ” Expert Mode” and continue.

Step 3: At this point we have to choose the firmware: click on “Browse” and select the original 4.1 firmware we downloaded earlier, then clicking on” Open. ” The application will automatically detect the device which is required to be jailbroken.

Step 4: In this new screen, click on the “General” and continue.

Step 5: Now you will be confronted with the following screen: Here:
- If you have an iPhone 3GS (factory unlocked) or are on an officially supported carrier like AT&T: DO NOT select “Activate the iPhone”
- The root partition is at your discretion.

When you finish choosing options suited to you, move forward. Sn0wbreeze does not update the baseband of iOS 4.1 firmware and you will have the baseband of the previous one.
Step 6: Now we must choose how to Unlock your iPhone: In this screen you choose the method you prefer. Logically, one is for iPhone 2G and the other is for 3G/3GS, as shown in the screenshot.

Step 7: Now, choose package installer from Cydia and Rock for your Phone. Select Cydia. Move forward to continue.

Step 8: It’s time to choose packages to be included in your firmware. Just skip and continue.
Step 9: After entering the preferred package you will be prompted to choose custom boot logos.
Step 10: After you are finished with all the customizations! Now proceed with the creation of the firmware, click on “Build IPSW. Wait till the process is completed.


Step 11: Put the iPhone in recovery mode (or DFU as appropriate).
For the DFU mode:
- Turn off the device while connected to your computer
- Click the Home + Power button for 10 seconds then release only the power button while continuing to press the Home button.
For recovery mode:
- Click Home + Power until the cable icon appears on screen itunes. During this operation, the iPhone will turn off a few times. Continue to press the keys without ever releasing them until their screen.
Step 12: Open iTunes and will show a warning message where there is informed that you have connected an iPhone in recovery mode, click OK and go forward.
Step 13: Hold down the Shift key on your keyboard, click with the mouse on the Restore button in iTunes.
Step 14: Select the firmware called “sn0wbreeze_iPhone_XXX” and confirm. After a few minutes you will have the jailbroken Firmware iOS 4.1 installed on iPhone 3GS or iPod 2G/3G.
