Well this doesn’t go quite so simple for iPod Touch 3…
Tried many different things, closest I could get to getting it installed from a sn0wbreeze jailbroken iOS4.0 was by using the iBooty software for the 4.0 to prepare my iPod for restore then restored using custom iOS4.1 firmware.
In the end it told me my iPod was out of date and needed to be updated. Stuck on the Plug into iTunes screen.

For those who are hoping to do this on their iPod Touch 2G — please don't. It will only make your OS slower. The best platform there is is still the 3.1.3.

I have upgraded my iPod Touch 2G to iOS 4 and I was disappointed. I upgraded it to iOS 4.1 and the feeling is still the same. iPhone 4 JailBreak Latest News
