PlayStation 3 / PS3 3.50 Firmware Jailbroken with X3max Dongle

by Jeffry on December 5, 2010

PS3 (Play Station 3) Console riding firmware 3.50 has been jailbroken using X3max dongle. This dongle can launch homebrews on PS3 with 3.50 firmware, without downgrade. The video has been released by logic-sunrise showing jailbroken PS3 running non-Sony approved games.

And this is the third major advance in the world of hack Playstation 3: The jailbreak firmware 3.50 the PS3 by Team X3. After the jailbreak firmware up to 3.41, then downgrade the firmware 3.50, now the X3 team has managed to run homebrew on official firmware 3.50 without downgrading!

The announcement is important, and Logic-Sunrise has done well to have bet on this team. 2 big questions:

  • Games like Gran Turismo 5 (requires firmware 3.50) work?
  • This update is compatible with the X3max? Is it free?

We have that kind of information on LS in a few hours, but the feedback I have from them show a free and compatibility with X3max with an update, but I prefer to have confirmation. Until we have more information, a video of the feat.

Those who don’t know, the X3max USB dongle jailbreaks the PlayStation 3 console, allowing you to install non-Sony approved games, and played from, the system’s included hard drive keeping your valid warranty seal in tact. X3max modchip don’t just allow pirated games to be played, they give you the ability to copy the games yourself. Sinceramente no creo que todo este rollo sea bueno ya que asta el dia de hoy los programadores de x3max no han podido sacar un downgrade, lo que otros ya lo han echo

Will it be possible to download this break and save it to USB?

  • Jason

I supported being able to install your BOUGHT games to the hard drive to play as opposed to swapping discs every time you want to play another game. Also saves on the laser. Might not be a big thing but replacing the Hard drive is easier than replacing the laser (had laser die on my PS2 before AFTER warranty expired.

Well that’s me leaving your Facebook page. Why would I follow a gadget website that talks about piracy straight out? Back to engadget!

I don’t think its piracy. According to me, focusing this post, its not piracy. Piracy is to convert the paid products into free and vice verse or to make the same apps using the same code but with different name. Here we are jailbreaking the device to run other standalone apps.

Jailbreaking is also legal now in US law. So, jailbreak the devices and have fun.
