This is BIG! PS3 (Play Station 3) has been jailbroken successfully using the open source PSGroove exploit from a TI-84 Plus/Silver Edition graphing calculator. PS3JB is a FLASH application for the TI-84 Plus and TI-84 Plus Silver Edition that implements the PS Groove exploit for the Playstation 3 console. By connecting a USB cable between a PS3 and your calculator and running the application, you can easily trigger the PS Groove exploit from your graphing calculator. Hit the video after the break!
This exploit will only make you able to backup games and does not allow you to play them. For that to happen someone need to recompile this with the code from PSFreedom that will enable you to play backups.
Jailbreak PS3 with TI-84 Plus/Silver Edition Calculator
Those who don’t know, after jailbreaking PS3 (PlayStation 3), you can install non-Sony approved games. It seems that after the release of open source PS3 exploit PSGroove, many hackers are trying hard to jailbreak Play Station 3 OS. Few days back, PS3 console was jailbroken with Palm Pre and an Apple mediated jailbreak of the PS3 using the iPhone is under development.
