Motorola Droid 2 Launching August 23 with Android 2.2 Froyo?

by Jeffry McDowell on June 28, 2010

It is being tipped by a trustworthy resource that Motorola Droid 2 would be shipping with Android 2.2 Froyo instead android 2.1 and will launch on August 23. This makes sense, since by that time Droid X and Droid 1 both will get the update. Remember, we already reported that Droid X , which was launched  recently  on android 2.1 will officially get android 2.2 Froyo blessing this summer and that the original Motorola Droid 1 will get Android 2.2 Froyo blessing sometime in July.

To support the claim we earlier reported that DROID 2 would be launched with Android 2.2 Froyo running 750MHz processor. Motorola Droid 2 will be sporting 8GB of internal memory with an 8GB micro-SD card including a 3.7-inch screen Display, 720P Screen, Wi-Fi tethering and a newer version of MotoBlur. However Droid 2 seems to be a powerful android even without having HDMI port and front facing camera.

What about price? Well, it seems that Motorola Droid 2 might debut around $199 with 2yr contract.

A lot of the specs you have for this device are inaccurate.
