If Droid 2 leaked images, spy-shots by Kellex were not sufficient to convince you that that Motorola Droid 2 will be launched with Android 2.2 Froyo on board instead android 2.1, then following leaked images of a Verizon device database will persuade you. Droid 2 is highly speculated to hit Verizon shelves on August 12 instead of August 23 as reported earlier.

Droid 2 has already made an appearance in Verizon device catalog tagged as ‘coming soon’ with some confirmed specifications – 512MB RAM/8 GB ROM, 1 GHz processor, 5 megapixel camera, 3G Mobile Hotspot functionality and an 8GB microSD card preinstalled with upto 16GB expandable memory. However Droid 2 will be missing HDMI port and front facing camera.

Those who do not know, Android 2.2 is much faster than Android 2.1 and almost 2 to five times faster than 2.1. There are tons of other features that will be accompanied in android 2.2 update apart from flash 10.1, native internet tethering, and application manager.
