Motorola Droid, HTC EVO 4G hacked to Gallop on Ubuntu

by Jeffry on July 9, 2010

Few days back Braniac Max hacked Nexus One to gallop on Ubuntu and we reported that EVO 4G will get Ubuntu port shortly. The hacker managed to force HTC EVO 4G and Motorola Droid to run Ubuntu Linux. The hack work flawlessly on EVO 4G and DROID hardware running both Android and Ubuntu at the same time while being able to use your phone fully as a phone and also the Ubuntu fully as sub-OS and the graphical GUI. You need to root your Nexus One and EVO 4G before installing Ubuntu.

Shouldn’t sound weird as we have already seen planetbeing porting Android on iPhone 2GiPhone 3Gfroyo ROM on iPhone 3G and Android port on HTC HD2? Incredible piece of reverse engineering!

[Update]: Ubuntu is running on the Droid as well. Just feast your eyes on the video showing Droid running Ubuntu Linux.
