Is the forthcoming Droid Pro is actually the same phone as the rumored Droid 2 World Edition with GSM and CDMA radio support for global roaming? Earlier, Droid 2 and Droid Pro were shown as two different devices in Verizon’s inventory system, with model numbers A956 and A957 respectively. But, what is the potential difference between the model codes A956 and A957?

A leaked screenshot might answer your question which says the A957 as the R2-D2 version of the Droid 2 that’s launching on September 30th.

But the question still remains unanswered, whether Verizon will carry “Droid 2 World Edition” or “Droid Pro” tag during launch. But the retail name may not be Droid Pro as Verizon has a tendency to fiddle with branding right up until the last minute. However, Droid Pro might cost you little more than the Droid 2′s $200 on contract.
