Google have released multiple android 2.2 FroYo versions starting with build FRF50, which was followed by FRF72, FRF83, FRF85B and now we have the latest build of FRF91. Nexus One users can manually download the OTA from Google and install it. It is important to note that it works for users currently on build FRF85B. No significant differences have been noticed compared to the previous one (FRF85) and might just be a security update.
However, Google is already rolling-out the Android 2.2 (Froyo) OTA (over the air) software update on Nexus One android phones, as reported earlier and you will receive an alert anytime on your phone’s notification bar as soon as it is available to you.
The Android 2.2 froyo update is much faster than Android 2.1 and almost 2 to five times faster than 2.1 eclair. There are many other useful features that come with android 2.2 update apart from flash 10.1, native internet tethering, and application manager. How to manually Flash Updated Android 2.2 on Google Nexus One
Before downloading android 2.2 froyo make sure you have FRF85B installed on your Nexus One. The update is the same as the OTA update. Just download it, put it on the SD card named update.zip, launch recovery (power on with volume down held), press power and volume up when the warning triangle icon appears then select apply update.zip.
