Yes you read that right! iPhone 4 has been unlocked successfully! Planetbeing (who ported Android on iPhone) has managed to unlock iPhone 4 running on iOS 4 and posted about this news on his Twitter account.

With an unlocked iPhone, users in US can easily use prepaid SIM cards other than AT&T and comes handy when you plan to travel outside US and still want to use the iPhone. Planetbeing has posted teaser image of iPhone 4 running on Bell carrier.

Earlier, planetbeing managed to get root access on the iPhone 4 using code of @comex’s userland jailbreak method. There are speculations that the new iPhone 4 jailbreak tool will not be released till Apple roll out an upgrade to the iOS 4 software (iOS 4.0.1 or iOS 4.1) within a few weeks from now to fix the Antenna problem of iPhone 4.
But no ETA was cited for iPhone 4 iOS 4 unlock. But in few hours video will be coming. Stay tuned!
