PS3 Firmware 3.42 Released to Fix PS JailBreak Exploit

PS3 firmware 3.42 has been released as a system update in order to patch PS Jailbreak patch (PSGroove, PSJailBreak, PSFreedom). If you have jailbroken your PS3 console using these exploits and want to retain, it is highly recommended that you do not update your PS3 console to firmware 3.42 at all. But it is required if you want to continue accessing the PlayStation Network or the PlayStation Store.

How to Bybass PS3 firmware 3.42 update

In order to bypass PS3 firmware 3.42 update, you can use Logan5 PS3 Proxy Tool. Just keep the Firmware Update box unchecked. This will get you back on PSN but Sony might detect Backup Manager and other homebrew applications. If so, your console will be banned. Alternatively, set IP: 67.202.81.137 as your primary & secondary DNS on your PS3 and you should be able to bypass 3.42 firmware update.
