Purplesn0w RC2 is a soft unlock for your iPhone 3GS. Earlier we shared about the initial release of purplesn0w. Purplesn0w RC2 which is much more clean and reliable comes along with following fixes-
1. 3G(the network speed) issues no longer exists
2. Only patches one file, CommCenter
3. Leaves no traces on your baseband after it runs.
How to use Purplesn0w RC2 ?
1. Be sure to have legit activated 3GS
2. Disable 3G if you don’t have it(like T-Mobile).
3. Add apt.geohot.com to Cydia
4. Install(or Update) com.geohot.purplesn0w
5. Watch for success output in Cydia(actually do this step)
6. Wait for signal, and enjoy your unlocked iPhone(no reboot required)
If you are using an unlocked iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS (unlocked via ultrasn0w or purplesn0w), make sure not to go for iPhone OS 3.1 Beta 2 update else it will lock your iPhone by upgrading your baseband permanently.
