George Hotz (Geohot), the first one to crack both the iPhone and the PS3 gave a talk at ”Nuit du hacks” (one of the oldest French underground hacking conference) in paris about his recent work on how he jailbroken iPhone and unlocked the it’s baseband using BlackRa1n (Jailbreak) and Blacksn0w (unlock). The conference was primarily focused on hacking the PS3 where a Guys was lucky enough to shot a video with his iPhone, during which Geohot explains how the protection system from Apple works and how the baseband functions in iPhone OS. During the conference, During the conference, Geohotsaid that that he had discovered a new private bootrom exploit, called pwnt4life that may be used for iPhone 4 jailbreaking.
