Few weeks back, infamous iPhone hacker Geohot, announced that he was leaving the iPhone jailbreak scene. The young prodigy even restricted access to his blog and Twitter account (now at @georgehotz), and advised iPhone community to follow, @mikecohenn. After few days, Mike posted a tweet, hinting towards the possible iPhone 4 jailbreak, adding only to frustration (no word till date). We all know that since past few weeks, George Hotz behavior towards his fans has been very annoying but surprisingly, George Hotz has publicly apologized to his fans today, but indirectly. Will S. from Chronic Dev (cdevwill on Twitter, chronic on IRC) posted “Apology from Geohot”. *
I understand most of you say you depend on my work, but reality is I made a lot of great tools and resources for others to continue. I apologize for my behavior the last few months but you must understand my life doea not revolve around just iphone. This was something I picked up for fun and now it has turned to much more than that. we have many great people on the scene now, please check them out. i don’t plan on releasing anything soon. Thank you.
If you read the last like we can say that something is coming related to iPhone. He is indeed working on something which he accounts more than a jailbreak? Perhaps porting iPhone iOS on Android phone. When planetbeing ported Android OS on iPhone 3G, Geohot replied that he would love to see iPhone iOS running on Android Phone. Well, I only remember and does not have tweet as a proof. May be he is working on a tool to run any OS on any Phone.
But why he suddenly fled from iPhone 4 Jailbreak is still a mystery question that will haunt iPhone community for life. We think that GeoHot just wanted to develop jailbreak software and iPhone unlock tool because of the challenge and the excitement of being able to find a loophole to run (non-pirated) third party code. But now doesn’t care to bring you pirated apps or the like on Jailbroken iPhone. Nothing more than that! What do you think?
