Apple is particularly proud of the new iPhone 4 Retina display of 326 ppi (4 times better than iPhone 3GS), which offers a great quality and high-resolution images. In addition to it, iPhone 4 uses IPS technology for superb color and wide viewing angle. Samsung, however, disagrees and refuses that iPhone 4 has the best display among smartphones in the world.

According to a Samsung spokesperson, the Retina Display on Apple iPhone 4 offers sharpness of only 3 or 5 percent more than that of the Galaxy S AMOLED screen. On the contrary, iPhone 4 eats up 30% more power to deliver those results! In addition, Samsung displays offer better contrast and better viewing angle. To end, the spokesman argued that the IPS LCD technology is old and can not possibly compete with AM-OLED screen that can not be defined better than all other smartphones.
Apple had thought initially to use AMOLED display for the next iPhone 4, but then discarded the idea for a series of technical problems. Apple, in fact, thought that Samsung even working at full capacity for the production of these screens, would be able to produce only 50-60%, compared to the number actually needed. The displays of this kind are increasingly common in devices from Samsung and HTC after having tested but Apple has realized that would not be practical to use in iPhone.
