Samsung is all set to launch its flagship tablet PC, the Galaxy Tab at IFA 2010, which will be held from September 3-8 in Berlin, Germany. DigiTimes is reporting that the device is aiming to counter upcoming 7-inch iPad (aka iPad Mini) and not the current model for competition.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab is said to gallop on in-house developed processor, Android 2.2 Froyo operating system, 7-inch display, HD video playback, Video calling, Augmented reality, Swype and more.

The video below provides some stunning features of 7-inch Galaxy Tab device. In the video, the user shows off the size versus an iPad, uses Swype with the notepad app, watches video, reads a newspaper article and looks at Google Maps.

In European market Samsung has witnessed a huge drop in netbook sales, forcing them to put more focus on growing tablet PC market to help cover the drop. It is being reported that the company is expected to ship 100,000 tablet PCs per month initially.

Just to put these number in perspective, Apple sells 8M iPhones a quarter. If Samsung really manages to sell 10M Galaxy S by the end of the year, it’ll sell around 30% as many Androids as Apple sells iPhones. Now, apple might increase the iPhone sales rate, but we need to remember that the Galaxy only came out in the second quarter.
    Very impressive achievement for Samsung.
