Sprint’s HTC EVO 4G to Join Android 2.2 Froyo Party on August 3

Countdown now begins to toss Frozen Yogurt (Froyo) on your EVO 4G. Official Android 2.2 Froyo update for Sprint EVO 4G will be available starting August 3 instead of in December 2010 making Sprint the first carrier to upgrade their devices to Android 2.2 Froyo. The froyo update for HTC EVO will be available as both OTA and direct link (for installing manually).

The Android 2.2 ROM is much faster than Android 2.1 and almost 2 to five times faster than 2.1 eclair. There are many other useful features that come with android 2.2 update on HTC EVO 4G apart from flash 10.1, native internet tethering, Voice Dialing Over Bluetooth, Application Storage on External Memory, Camera 4-way rotation, and application manager.
