Sprint Nextel Corp and HTC’s much awaited WiMax Android EVO 4G smartphone has been launched after months of rumor and should hit Sprint this summer. This is the same phone that we were previously calling the HTC Supersonic. The HTC EVO 4G (originally codenamed “Supersonic”) is packed with a 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen with multitouch and runs HTC’s updated Sense UI over Android 2.1 mobile OS. The device will support Sprint’s CDMA network, as well as the higher speed WiMax network operated by Clearwire Corp.

HTC EVO 4G features adobe flash supported Android OS 2.1, 480 x 800 4.3-inch TFT LCD display with QSD8650 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, 1GB of storage, and 512MB of RAM, 8.0 MP auto-focus camera, HD video capture, HDMI output, Mobile Hotspot capability and more. With built-in mobile hotspot functionality, HTC EVO 4G allows up to eight Wi-Fi enabled devices to share the 4G experience which is incredible. You can Tether your HTC EVO 4G (share internet connection) with a laptop, camera, music player, game unit, video player, or any other Wi-Fi enabled device on the go

Sprint 4G will deliver download speeds up to 10 times faster than 3G, giving HTC EVO 4G the fastest data speeds of any U.S. wireless device available today. With such a lightning speed, sprint 4G users can easily download and upload music, pictures, files, or videos within seconds and watch streaming video on the go (buffering is passé now).

Bundled with all the HTC Sense features, HTC EVO 4G will add some new features, including Friend Stream, a social media aggregator for Facebook and Twitter into one organized flow of updates, interactive widgets, and a “polite” ringer, which quiets the ringing phone once lifted up.
Customers will be able to purchase HTC EVO 4G through all Sprint channels and through national retail partners, RadioShack, Best Buy and Walmart, this summer. You can also purchase android powered HTC EVO 4G phone from newly launched HTC online store. Pricing will be announced at a later date. Pre-registration begins today at Sprint EVO 4G mini site.
