by Jeffry on June 26, 2010

The upcoming Samsung Vibrant aka Samsung Galaxy S from T-Mobile will be galloping on android 2.1 instead of android 2.2 Froyo. There are more such facts that have been posted by T-Mobile officially on community forum.

  • Will launch with Android 2.1 Eclair ROM.
  • 1 GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor.
  • 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen.
  • It benefits from enhanced speeds with T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network, but it’s not an HSPA+ device.
  • Dimensions: 4.82 x 2.54 x 0.39 inches and weighs 4.16 oz.
  • 5MP rear camera with digital zoom and autofocus. It also supports HD Video recording.

Surprisingly, T-Mobile version of Samsung Vibrant is not coming with front facing camera used for video chatting via services like Skype which some of us do with family and friends around the world and for business. But, why it was dropped was the euro version of Galaxy S sports front camera?

oh i know… bc google put their name on the Nexus One (which I have) and “android”, so naturally, they will provide updates first on their phone.

2.1?! Why no Froyo edition? If this is going to be a new phone why not the latest Android version?

According to Tnobile. Froyo is being optimized for the Hummingbird processor, and will be released over the air at a later date
