Unlock iPhone 3G, 3GS on iOS 4.2 / 4.1 with Ultrasn0w coming After iOS 4.2 is Released

Yes you read it right! Carrier unlock for Baseband 05.14.02 on iPhone 3GS, 3G iOS 4.1 seems to be almost ready. MuscleNerd of iPhone Dev Team has confirmed that ultrasn0w software unlock for iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G on iOS 4.1 and iOS 4.2 running 05.14.02 baseband will be released in a day or two at most, once iOS 4.2 is released to public.

However, you can still carrier unlock your iPhone 4 on iOS 4.1. If you have the iPhone 4 on iOS 4.1 then you are out of luck as you are already on baseband 02.10.04. If not, then follow the complete guide on how to upgrade iPhone 4 to 4.1 firmware without upgrading its baseband and later unlock it using ultrasn0w or alternatively, you can jailbreak your iPhone 4 4.1 by installing custom firmware using PwnageTool and later unlocking it using Ultrasn0w.

Hi all,
I am sitting for days reading thousands of post on how to Jailbreak/Unlock an iPhone 3G with iOs 4.1 under Windows. Not one single tutorial is done right from start to end. I made the mistake to upgrade the newest iOs (4.2.1) from Apple using iTunes. As I understood the baseband has updated also and there is no unlock yet available. My phone is expecting a original carrier Sim Card, witch I do not have. I tried to reinstall my old iOs version 3.0.1 but it does not work anymore. Afterwords I tried different version 4.1, 4.0, 3.1.2 etc. so now I do not know what baseband I have. Is there any way to find out ? (do not tell me to see the settings in iPhone as the phone is not starting, so I cannot check the settings). Can I do anything with my iPhone now, or should I throw it away ? Is there someone who can provide a step by step, well written tutorial for dummies ?

I have an Iphone 3G and inadvertently updated it to 4.1. I relied on the unlock and now it is no longer unlocked. I found a few YouTube videos to show me how to do it. But they where misleading. My phone is Jailbroken but not unlocked for non suppored sim card users. Can you help and tell me if this is possible anymore. Or am I SOL?
