Unlock your iPhone 4, 3GS Permanently with IMEI Unlock Method

by Jeffry on April 12, 2011

A new remote unlocking method using your IMEI is available for all GSM iPhones that promises to unlock all iPhones on any baseband without jailbreaking it. Yes! It will also unlock your iPhone 4 on baseband 02.10.04, 03.10.01, 04.10.01 including iPhone 3G/3GS on bb 05.14.xx, 05.15.xx and 05.16.xx which cannot be unlocked using iPhone Dev Teams free Ultrasn0w.

Many websites promises to permanently unlock your iPhone using this method but the price is almost thrice as compared to GEVEY SIM ranging between $150 to $200. So, should you buy GEVEY or Rebel Micro SIM or go via this method? Or should you wait for free ultrasn0w to come?

We would recommend to refrain yourself from buying GEVEY or Rebel, as it uses 112 emergency number and only unlocks your iPhone for certain baseband and firmware. As far as Ultrasn0w unlock is concerned, we do not see any update coming soon. You can however, give a try to this method which would “OFFICIALLY” and permanently unlock your iPhone without having to give a jailbreaking treatment. Even the hacker community has acknowledged its legitimacy. You can try Negri Electronics (available for $175 only), CutYourSim or SuperPaddy. All of them have decent past history.

The well-established online unlockers for other cellphone brands are suddenly today selling iPhone unlocks..obviously something opened up

iPhone is being repaired now so can’t test, but I know @CutYourSim is legit thru past dealings. I’m positive his unlock offerings are legit.

This does NOT affect your warranty status, because this is an official iPhone unlock. We will update this post as soon as we get more information on how this method works. Just follow us on Twitter or become a Facebook fan.

So did anyone found out if it works for AT&T locked iPhone4? AT&T states on their site “AT&T customers cannot unlock their iPhone to work on another network.” ???

I did it with AT&T iPhone 4 and I can confirm that it works. Did it via polish unlocking website. It took about 24h to unlock.

Did it on my AT&T locked Iphone 4 4.1 on bb 2.10.4 through CutYourSim for $169.99 and it took 3 days. They only ask for my credit card and IMEI. During that 3days, didn’t do anything with the phone. They just send me instructions on how to unlock my iphone. All I did was to upgrade the firmware to 4.3.2 making my bb 4.10.01, inserted other sim card and whala my expensive ipod was suddenly converted to an iphone. Jailbreaking the new ios on the phone can wait, i just want to enjoy the phone which has been an ipod since October 2010… $169.99 is very expensive, but it is way cheaper than buying a new iphone4 which was my option before…

I doubt these work for AT&T phones. Unless this is some sort of back end hack. Does anyone know how this actually works? From what I gather the original carrier (in my case AT&T) has to register the phone as unlocked with Apple.

Orange in Poland done that for about $25 (80PLN) as an extra service while buying. Had to wait 24 hrs and same window in itunes showed. (in Polish, of course…)

This isn’t MuscleNerds unlock method. He isn’t even sure completely of the workings.

We published this story three hours ago…. sigh, yet let the bigger sites get all the credit without giving any back anyways
