Verizon has developed FiOS TV Mobile Remote App for the Motorola Droid which will allow you to control your Verizon FiOS HD TV set-top-box just like your standard remote control. It would be useful when your remote gets lost or misplaced by your children.
The FiOS Mobile Remote App will be available only to FiOS TV customers who also own Motorola Droid or HTC Imagio handset. The mobile remote app provides the same functions of the standard FiOS remote.
Features of FiOS TV Mobile Remote App
- You can change channels, manage parental controls, pause, and rewind, fast forward or record a TV show all through the Motorola Droid phone.
- Transfer photo (one at a time) from the Droid phone to the TV or view slide show of photos stored on the mobile device.
- Import your favorites list from the TV to the droid cell phone and then use your phone to select your favorite channels on any FiOS TV.
- Automatically mute the TV set and resume to the previous volume level once the call ends.
To set up Mobile Remote is easy. Just pair the device with the in-home Wi-Fi network by opening up the Mobile Remote Widget on the TV and select either the Motorola Droid or HTC Imagio icon. You will then be prompted to register your mobile number using the Widget. After telephone number registration you can use it to control your FiOS HD TV set-top-box.
