Woz T-Shirt Pokes Fun on Lost iPhone 4G / HD Debacle

by Jeffry on April 25, 2010

Wozniak, one of the co-founder of Apple, known for his great sense of humor was recently spotted drinking a beer, with iPhone and wearing a T-shirt that reads: “I went drinking with Gray Powell and all I got was a lousy iPhone prototype.”

Apple engineer Gray Powell is an Apple Engineer, who visited The Gourmet Haus Staudt, a German Beer Garden in Redwood City, California, to celebrate his birthday, and later abandoned the iPhone 4G prototype on bar stool, as he leaves the bar in drunken state. Later, Gizmodo, a technology news blog got hold of it for $5000 and leaked pictures and videos. Police has started the investigation after Apple Inc. approached local police (read the complete story here).

The debacle of purported next iPhone could cost Apple millions of dollars and has indeed turned Powell into a famous personality. This is however one achievement that Gray Powell would never like to brag about. Almost everybody who is watching the whole saga contemplated that his career at the Apple was almost finished. But, Wozniak feels different and said

“It seems clear that (Powell) kept the iPhone prototype secret enough to satisfy Apple. It’s a bad accident that could happen to any of us.”

When asked about the T-Shirt he was wearing, Wozniak replied-

.. Any smile is worth it, that’s my side. I’d laugh if the same thing were done to me. But I didn’t cut into iPhone/iPad lines.

The joke on Woz T-Shirt is hilarious Indeed! I am deeply moved by Steve Wozniak’s great sense of humor and the kind of sympathy he has shown towards Gray Powell.

The comic way approach to the incident is way a lot better than what actually Apple is doing. A balance between the two approach is excellence.
